![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() “Intel has resolved the DRM issue on 12th Gen Intel Core Processors that caused games to crash or not load in Windows 11 and/or Windows 10 by working with game publishers and Microsoft,” Intel said. Update : Intel’s support page doesn’t list any games that are currently affected. According to a report from Intel itself, dozens of popular games which use the Denuvo anti-tamper system are crashing when running on the new hardware. With the recent introduction of Intel’s impressive new 12th-gen processors, it looks like gamers have yet another reason to dislike DRM. There are links and secondary sources to back it up, because not trusting the word of a random person on the internet is just common sense, really.Denuvo, a popular but resource-intensive digital rights management program, has been the bane of PC gamers for years. I go further into detail in the thread I linked earlier if anyone's curious. If it's so efficient, why have they removed it from more games than they used it in so far this year? If Denuvo worked, wouldn't everyone use it? If it demonstrated any beneficial effect, heck, I'd be using it myself since they have affordable per-unit payment plans for small developers. Only 15 games with denuvo featured in Steam's 100 best sellers list and there were only two in the top 10. In 2018 only 0.6% of the games released on steam used it. I already explained why in the thread I linked earlier but I'll just sum up here for convenience: contrary to popular belief Denuvo protected games represent only a very small minority on steam. ![]() One of the main market of this game is China, and as a developing country the game culture today in china is: most gamers tend to pirate game instead of buying.Įven tho u can argue DRM doesn't prevent pirating, but as management in CA, they won't think it is true when most of AAA devs is doing DRM.Ĭan't really argue with your statement except that last part.
